Terms, Agreements & Policies

These terms apply to all services, products, premises, events, and interactions offered, operated, or facilitated by Liefs and its affiliated entities, including but not limited to: the Liefs café (all locations), catering services, retreat programs, Rancho Verde Airbnb accommodations, online and physical book sales, digital products, social media content, email communications, retreat-related excursions, and any future products or services offered under the Liefs brand.

These terms are governed by the laws of Quintana Roo, Mexico, and where applicable, the laws of the United States of America (FTC regulations, applicable state law). Jurisdiction: Tulum, Quintana Roo, Mexico. For international disputes, parties agree to non-binding mediation before litigation. Nothing in these terms limits any statutory consumer rights under the Ley Federal de Protección al Consumidor (LFPC) or applicable U.S. state law.

By visiting our premises, using our website, making a purchase, submitting a booking, signing an agreement, attending a retreat, or engaging with any Liefs product or service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements, and agree unconditionally to all applicable terms herein.

You acknowledge and accept that participation in any activity offered or facilitated by Liefs — including but not limited to dining at the café, attending a retreat, staying at Rancho Verde, participating in yoga, meditation, breath-work, cold immersion (ice baths), cenote swimming, ocean swimming, nature excursions, temazcal ceremonies, plant medicine ceremonies, creative workshops, physical exercise, or any other activity — involves inherent risks, including but not limited to: physical injury, illness, allergic reactions, emotional distress, property damage, and in extreme cases, death.

You voluntarily assume all such risks, whether known or unknown, foreseeable or unforeseeable, arising from your participation or presence.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you hereby irrevocably release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Fem's Food LLC, Liefs Taste of Tulum SA de CV, Rancho Verde, and all of their respective past and present affiliates, subsidiaries, parent companies, successors, assigns, officers, directors, shareholders, members, managers, employees, agents, independent contractors, subcontractors, partners, licensees, co-venturers, facilitators, coaches, guides, volunteers, and any other persons or entities acting on their behalf (collectively, the "Released Parties") from any and all claims, demands, losses, damages, costs, expenses (including legal fees), actions, and causes of action of any nature whatsoever, whether arising in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise, arising out of or related to your use of our services, premises, or products.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (i) your breach of any of these terms; (ii) your negligence, misconduct, or willful acts; (iii) your violation of any applicable law or regulation; or (iv) any claim by a third party arising from your actions or omissions while using our services or on our premises.

Liefs agrees to mutually indemnify participants from claims arising directly from Liefs' own gross negligence or willful misconduct.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the total aggregate liability of the Released Parties to any individual for any claim arising from or related to Liefs services shall not exceed the amount paid by that individual for the specific service giving rise to the claim. In no event shall the Released Parties be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive, or special damages, including but not limited to loss of income, loss of profits, loss of business, or loss of data.

You represent that you have disclosed all relevant medical, psychological, and psychiatric conditions to the Liefs team prior to participation. Liefs does not provide medical advice and is not liable for any health outcomes arising from non-disclosure. All health-related participation is at your own discretion and risk. If you are pregnant, have a heart condition, mental health diagnosis, or any other condition that may be affected by physical exertion, fasting, cold exposure, breath-work, or ceremonial plant medicine, you must inform the team in advance and obtain independent medical clearance.

By dining at any Liefs café location or consuming any Liefs food or beverage product, you acknowledge that while Liefs takes all reasonable precautions to avoid cross-contamination and allergen exposure, it operates in a shared kitchen environment. You assume all risk associated with food allergies, dietary sensitivities, and food-borne illness. You agree to inform staff of all allergies prior to ordering. Liefs is not liable for reactions arising from undisclosed allergies or from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Guests staying at Rancho Verde through Airbnb or direct booking agree that their stay involves inherent risks associated with jungle and natural environments, including but not limited to wildlife, insects, uneven terrain, swimming facilities, and outdoor conditions. Guests are responsible for their own safety and the safety of any minors in their care. Liefs is not liable for personal injury, illness, or property damage arising from guest negligence, non-compliance with house rules, or inherent environmental conditions of the property.

This waiver does not apply to claims arising from the gross negligence or willful misconduct of Liefs or its directly employed staff. Nothing in this section limits any statutory rights you may have under applicable Mexican or U.S. consumer protection law that cannot be waived by contract.

We live and learn as one community. Treat yourself, others, and the land with gratitude, patience, kindness, consent, and presence. Silence and respect during sessions keep the space sacred for all. Disrespectful, aggressive, or disruptive behavior toward any guest, facilitator, staff member, or animal on the property will result in immediate removal.

Help us preserve this 12-hectare zero-waste sanctuary: separate all recycling, keep all spaces clean, and respect all living beings on the property. No littering. No single-use plastics. Waste separation is mandatory. Please follow all posted instructions on recycling and composting.

The following are strictly prohibited on the premises at all times: alcohol, smoking, tobacco products, vaping, recreational drugs (except in the context of explicitly organized and facilitated ceremonial plant medicine sessions), and animal products of any kind (meat, dairy, leather goods brought into shared spaces). No exceptions.

Always shower before using the pool, especially after visiting the beach, engaging in physical activity, or returning from a field trip. The pool is not a shower or bath. Failure to shower before pool use is grounds for loss of pool access.

Turn off air conditioning when leaving your quarters. Management reserves the right to turn off AC in unoccupied rooms. Conserve water. Lights off when leaving. These are not requests — they are conditions of your stay.

Please inform the Liefs team if you plan to leave the property or travel alone, especially during public excursions such as beach visits, cenotes, or lagoons. This is for your safety. We are not responsible for incidents occurring during unsanctioned solo departures.

Please refrain from personal photography, filming, or phone use during shared sessions to maintain presence and protect the privacy of all participants. Professional content may be captured by Liefs for promotional purposes with appropriate care for participant dignity. By staying at or attending events at Rancho Verde, you grant permission for respectful use of retreat content and venue photography in which you may incidentally appear, for Liefs promotional purposes.

Governed by LFPC Art. 73 bis (Mexico) and FTC Mail Order Rule 16 C.F.R. § 435 (U.S.). Return window: 30 calendar days from delivery confirmation.

Refunds processed within 7 business days of receiving returned item. Initiate via ola@eatatliefs.com with order number, reason, and photos.

Catering contracts require a minimum 20% non-refundable deposit upon booking confirmation, as permitted under LFPC Art. 76 bis, fraction VI.

Credit notes are valid for 12 months and transferable to a third party.

• 3Review: Liefs evaluates eligibility within 5 business days.
• 4Decision: Approval or denial communicated in writing within 7 business days of receipt.
• 5Refund: Returned via original payment method or credit note within 7 business days of approval.

Refunds are returned via the original payment method. We accept no liability for payment processor delays exceeding 10 business days. Customers retain the right to file a chargeback with their bank; however, Liefs reserves the right to contest chargebacks where this policy has been satisfied.

Liefs reserves the right to update this policy at any time. The version in force at the time of purchase governs. Updates are published at eatatliefs.com/terms. For international disputes, parties agree to non-binding mediation before litigation.

All activities are voluntary and at your own discretion and risk. We encourage stepping out of your comfort zone, but never beyond what feels safe to you. You must inform the team in advance of any medical or psychological conditions that may be affected by deep mental, emotional, or spiritual work, fasting, temazcal, cold plunge, aquatic activities, and/or plant medicine. Follow organizer guidance at all times.

Though the team and coaches will do everything to keep you safe and supported, participation involves natural risks, especially during physical, aquatic, and ceremonial activities. You agree to release, hold harmless, and mutually indemnify Liefs Retreats, Rancho Verde, Fem's Food LLC, Liefs Taste of Tulum SA de CV, and all affiliated entities and their representatives from any claims or consequential damages, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct by Liefs.

A professional photographer will document your journey. Please avoid personal photography or phone use during sessions to stay fully present and protect the privacy of all participants. By agreeing to these terms, you grant permission for respectful use of retreat content — including group photos, videos, and testimonials — for Liefs promotional purposes. We will never publish identifying content without your awareness. You are invited to share a testimonial at the end of the retreat to help others.

We operate as one team. Please model gratitude, patience, respect, presence, and professionalism at all times. Guest well-being and experience are our highest priority. Facilitators are expected to be coachable, service-minded, and flexible — especially when last-minute changes occur. Part of being supportive is keeping composure: no surprised looks, remarks, or gestures in front of guests. Treat every adjustment as intentional. Lead facilitators will communicate with guests as needed. Always follow the guidance of the organizing team. Guest safety — emotional and physical — comes first.

You participate as an independent contractor, not an employee of Fem's Food LLC or Liefs Taste of Tulum SA de CV. You are solely responsible for your own health, insurance, taxes, professional licensing, and regulatory compliance. You must inform Liefs of any medical or psychological conditions — including those that may be affected by fasting, deep emotional and spiritual work, or plant medicine practices — and of how to treat related emergencies. Follow organizer guidance at all times.

You acknowledge the inherent risks of facilitating or assisting during retreat activities. You agree to release, hold harmless, and mutually indemnify Fem's Food LLC, Liefs Taste of Tulum SA de CV, Rancho Verde, and all affiliated entities and their representatives from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your facilitation activities, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct by Liefs. Liefs mutually agrees to indemnify facilitators from claims arising directly from Liefs' own gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Professional content creators will document the retreat. Please refrain from personal photography, filming, or phone use during sessions to maintain presence and protect guest privacy. You will receive access to edited content afterward for your own portfolio, subject to Liefs approval. All participant sharing — including anything shared in sessions or private conversations — remains strictly confidential and may not be disclosed, published, or used without explicit written consent.

Facilitators may introduce themselves and share how guests can connect afterward (social media, website). However, selling personal products, programs, services, or merchandise to guests during the retreat — or using the retreat as a lead generation tool for personal gain — is not permitted without prior written consent from Liefs leadership.

Please honor our zero-waste, plant-based, and alcohol-free space at all times. No smoking or drinking is permitted on the ranch premises or in front of guests. If you smoke, do so entirely out of guest view and never during activities or group outings. Ensure guests never smell smoke when near you. Respect the land, animals, and community. Turn off AC when leaving your quarters. Shower before using the pool — especially after beach visits, physical activity, or field trips.

All content on eatatliefs.com — including text, photographs, videos, recipes, retreat programs, branding, and course materials — is the intellectual property of Fem's Food LLC and/or Liefs Taste of Tulum SA de CV and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark law. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or commercial use of any Liefs content without express written permission is strictly prohibited.

Liefs collects personal data (name, email, phone, health information) solely for the purpose of providing services, communicating with guests, and improving offerings. We do not sell personal data to third parties. Data is stored in accordance with the Ley Federal de Protección de Datos Personales en Posesión de los Particulares (LFPDPPP) and applicable U.S. state privacy law. You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data by contacting ola@eatatliefs.com.

Retreat programs are designed for adults aged 18 and over. No person under the age of 18 may participate in retreat programming, plant medicine ceremonies, cold immersion, or any other retreat activity without explicit prior written consent from Liefs leadership and a parent or legal guardian present on-site. Liefs reserves the right to refuse participation to minors at its sole discretion.

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.

These terms, together with any specific booking confirmation, retreat agreement, or service contract provided by Liefs, constitute the entire agreement between you and Liefs with respect to the subject matter herein and supersede all prior discussions, negotiations, representations, and agreements, whether written or oral.

Liefs shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these terms where such failure or delay results from any cause beyond Liefs' reasonable control, including but not limited to: acts of God, natural disasters, government orders, pandemic, epidemic, war, civil unrest, infrastructure failure, or other events of force majeure. In such cases, Liefs will offer a full credit note valid for 12 months in accordance with applicable law.

By visiting any Liefs premises, dining at any Liefs café location, or attending any Liefs event, you acknowledge that photographs and videos may be taken in shared spaces for promotional purposes. If you do not wish to appear in such content, please notify a staff member immediately upon arrival. Liefs will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests but cannot guarantee exclusion from all incidental photography in public shared spaces.
